Dr. Lee Everett Monroe has enjoyed a long and exemplary career as an educator, educational consultant, and senior educational administrator. His professional life has been devoted to advancing the role of higher education, and Dr. Lee Everett Monroe imbues his work with personal conviction enhanced by high-level skills.
Dr. Lee Everett Monroe has served as senior executive at several colleges. Often tasked with the challenging demand of improving the financial or academic status of unstable institutions, Dr. Lee Everett Monroe has a history of success in these endeavors. Providing inspiration, astute leadership, and a concrete plan, Dr. Lee Everett Monroe garners the support of financial partners needed to make his vision for a school a reality.
Possessing a diverse background as an educator, educational advisor, and administrator, Dr. Lee Everett Monroe became Director of Institutional Advancement at his alma mater, Shaw University. Subsequently assuming the role of Executive Vice President of the college at a time when the school suffered from a significant deficit of $1 million, Dr. Lee Everett Monroe successfully steered the school to fiscal stability with a large surplus.
As President of Florida Memorial College, Dr. Lee Everett Monroe significantly decreased the school’s debt, expanded the school’s Afro-Caribbean program, and created a vibrant student exchange program to augment that department’s curriculum. Under Dr. Lee Everett Monroe’s able guidance, the school received accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Dr. Lee Everett Monroe then turned his executive expertise and devotion to advancing education to the crisis-ridden institution, Paul Quinn College, located in Texas. Becoming President of the school in 1993, Dr. Lee Everett Monroe organized a fundraising campaign that partnered the school with major corporations. Dr. Lee Everett Monroe’s efforts raised $21 million, alleviated the debt, and allowed the school to achieve new levels of scholarship and expanded programs for its students.
After his long and thriving career at Paul Quinn College, Dr. Lee Everett Monroe assumed the Presidency of Voorhees College, located in South Carolina.
Currently Dr. Lee Everett Monroe resides in North Carolina and enjoys painting, reading, and spending time near the water with his family and friends.
